Fundraising with OutreachCircle

The most common ways to use OutreachCircle for fundraising include:

• Using affinity texting to follow-up with donors
• Using the action hub to engage existing donors and recruit new ones
• Using relational organizing to help event hosts easily invite their friends

Affinity texting

Enable fundraising team to send personal text messages to donors or prospects from their own personal phone number.

• Follow up with prospects that have committed to donate, but have not donated
  • Hi, this is [candidate name], we spoke earlier, thanks for your support! Can I count on you to contribute today? Click here to make the contribution: [link]
• Follow up with prospects that have not responded to emails or phone calls
  • Hi, this is [candidate name], I left you a message earlier. Can we count on you to contribute this year? Click here to make the contribution: [link]
• Thank you messages to donors
  • Hi, this is [staff member name] from the [organization name]. Wanted to thank you for your support this year. This is my cell number; if you need to reach me, call or text anytime. 
• Personal event reminders to VIP guests
  • Hi, wanted to check in to make sure you we will see you tomorrow. You can text or call me at this number with any questions. 
• Scheduling calls with donors
  • Hi, this is [staff member name] from the [organization name]. Are you free to chat with [candidate name] this week? Let me know what time(s) work best for you.
• Send periodic VIP updates 
  • Hi, this is [executive director name]. Wanted to personally thank you and let you know that we hit our fundraising goal and will be able to [project action/name]. You can call or text me anytime at this number. 
• Assign donors to board members, volunteers or fundraising team to build long term relationships
  • Hi this is [board member name]. I am on the board of [organization]. Wanted to reach out and let you know this is my number. You can call or text me anytime with questions.
  • Hi this is [board member name]. Wanted to let you know we had some really important news ...
  • Hi this is [board member name]. Wanted to thank you for your past support. Thought I would check in to see if we can count on your support this year.
• For school fundraising, assign parents to parent volunteers
  • Hi, this is [parent name], my daughter [name] is in [teacher name] class. I am following up with [grade level] parents to see if they will come to our annual auction. You can call or text me anytime with questions.

Supporter action hub

Engage donors during and after fundraising events.

• Ask attendees to register on their mobile phone
• Staff can register attendees using the Recruit button on OutreachCircle
• Encourage attendees to sign in on their mobile phone they can can self register using onboarding flyers
• Eliminate data entry and problems with bad handwriting
• Create actions that attendees can complete at the event
• Create a Donation action for attendees to donate online at the event
• Create Social Share actions for attendees to spread the event presence online
• Create Assign a Task actions for a virtual scavenger hunt or Supporter Update actions with more information about the event (bathroom locations, second bar in the back, etc)

Relational organizing

Make it easy for hosts and co-hosts to invite friends to an upcoming event.

• For electoral fundraising events, enable hosts to find and email friends that live in your district
• Load in a target list/voter file
• Create an Email/Text Friends action with voter file matching enabled
• Tell hosts that they can use OutreachCircle to quickly find and email all of their friends that live in the district
• When they log in, there will be a sample message they can use to invite their friends
• Enable hosts to quickly text friends 
• Create an Email/Text Friends action with voter file matching disabled; disable email and enable text
• Tell hosts they can upload a file of their friends with cell phone numbers and quick text them through OutreachCircle
• Sample message - Hey, this is [host name], I emailed you earlier. Just wanted to reach out and see if we can count on you next week. Would love to have you there.
